Morgan County is part of the Huntsville/Decatur television media market, ranked 82nd in the country based on number of viewers. The market stretches from the Alabama/Mississippi state line, south to approximately Cullman (30 miles south of Decatur), east to the Alabama/Georgia state line and north to include a portion of south central Tennessee. Along with the four major networks (ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC), the area also boasts the CW Network and two Alabama Public Television (APT) affiliates. All are available in Morgan County.
The county is also part of the Huntsville radio media market, ranked 105th in the county based on the number of 12+ listeners.
Decatur and Hartselle each host a local newspaper. Founded in 1912, The Decatur Daily is a locally-owned and operated seven-day publication based in Decatur. Publisher Clint Shelton is the fourth generation of his family to operate the paper. The Sheltons also own the Florence (Ala.) Times-Daily and the Moulton (Ala.) Advertiser. The Hartselle Enquirer is a locally owned and operated weekly publication based in Hartselle.
