Mission
Create an economic development program balanced between (1) retaining and expanding businesses in Decatur-Morgan County Alabama and (2) recruitment of new retail, commercial, and technology-based businesses to Decatur-Morgan County.
To promote job creation and capital investment in Decatur-Morgan County as an economic development partner with all applicable entities of the City of Decatur and Morgan County.

The Annual Small Business Awards Celebration
The event recognizes Chamber member businesses that have been serving Decatur and Morgan County and have reached milestones of doing business in our community. Individual recognitions are also made in varying business categories.

Breakfast and Biz
This quarterly breakfast is a structured networking and training opportunity with featured speakers. This popular event provides small business related topics for members and non-member businesses.
Women in Business Celebration and the Athena Award
This is a networking, relationship building, and leadership opportunity for women in business event. It targets businesswomen, female elected officials, committee members and special guests. This event is a celebration of community engagement by businesswomen who have given their time and expertise to grow local businesses and expand leadership capacity in our region.
The Athena Award is named for the Greek goddess of wisdom. Athena is also known as the champion of justice and civil law. The award is presented across the world by Chambers of Commerce, women's organizations and universities. It is an international award program and is promoted by local organizations.
The honoree will be selected from community nominees. To submit a nomination, please send a completed application to the Chamber, including how the nominee meets the following criteria: demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in her business profession; provides valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community; actively assists women in realizing their full leadership potential.
