Diversity Development
Mission
To enhance the development of the existing and future workforce through local and regional partnerships and to provide a globally competitive business environment for the area.
About the Diversity Development Committee:
The Diversity program ensures that every member of the community has access to the knowledge and skills to succeed in the workplace. The sub-committee also hosts the annual Diversity Banquet (formerly the Minority Awards Banquet), which is a September event that recognizes minority-owned businesses and honors individuals who have contributed to the community’s diversity.

One role of the Committee is to create dialogue and conversation about solutions that impact our community. Economists and sociologists all agree the number one issue that impacts all demographics is poverty. From health care, education, workforce development and transportation, poverty touches all points of a community in one way or another. The Committee has connected with aha! Process -- a non-profit organization that focuses on reducing poverty -- for resources and materials that help facilitate conversations about poverty solutions.
