Racking Horse Spring Celebration April The first of two Racking Horse Shows held each year at the Celebration Arena. Both shows are the biggest events of the year for the Racking Horse Breed. The Spring Celebration boasts entries from over 25 states competing for honors, as well as cash prizes. Features different classes and divisions of Racking Horses. Admission Charge.
Daikin Festival May Japanese chemical manufacturer, Daikin America hosts an annual festival that includes music, traditional Japanese folk dancing, product displays, food, activities for kids and more. No admission fee.
Wings of Thunder Bike Rally and Run May Motorcycle Rally and Run through Morgan County. Vendors, bike games, live entertainment, bike and car show.
Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Festival May Largest free hot-air balloon festival in the Southeast with over 60 balloons participating. Races are held early morning and late afternoon. Other activities include an arts and crafts show, antique car and tractor show, softball tournament, and entertainment. No admission charged.
Spring Garden Tours May-June Tour private gardens in Hartselle and Decatur, as well as guided walking tours on Saturdays during June
The Spirit of America Festival July Independence Day Celebration featuring the Miss Point Mallard Pageant, presentation of the Audie Murphy Patriotism Award and other freedom awards, day long activities for children, and a huge fireworks display the night of the fourth. No admission charged.
The Battle for Decatur Civil War Reenactment Labor Day Weekend Reenactment featuring more than 200 authentically clad Union and Confederate soldiers in mock battles at 2:00 p.m. each day. No admission charged.
Riverfest September Festival featuring the Alabama State Barbecue Cookoff Championship, children's activities and live musical entertainment. Admission charged.
Racking Horse World Celebration September The second of the Racking Horse Shows held at the Celebration Arena, the World Celebration culminates the year with the crowning of the annual World Champion. Admission Charge.
Hartselle Depot Days Festival September Festival celebrating the history of the railroad and its contribution to Hartselle with an antique car and tractor show, arts and crafts, live entertainment and the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, a certified 5K run and 1 mile fun run, and food vendors. One of seven events listed in Southern Living Magazine's 2006 Fall Weekends as "The South's Best Fests"
Eva Frontier Days September Week long celebration of life on the frontier that includes a fun run, blue grass festival, greased pig contest, musical entertainment, arts and crafts, barbecue and baking contests, quilt square contest, as well as an antique car and tractor show, a parade and a hayride.
Alabama Charity Horse Show October Horse show benefiting the Alabama Children's Hospital. This show draws over 600 horses competing in different classes for prizes and honors.
The Southern Wildlife Festival October A nationally-recognized wildlife art show and sale featuring the works of approximately 100 artists, with photographic exhibitions and competitions. Admission charged.
Christmas Open House and Taste of Hartselle November Stores throughout Hartselle open their doors offering refreshments, sales and special deals for shoppers. Carolers stroll the streets and bells ring in front of the Depot as the holiday season officially begins in Hartselle. Local restaurants also serve bite size portions of food for everyone to taste and enjoy.
Christmas Open House and Tour of Homes in Decatur December Decatur's historic districts are decorated with luminaries, greenery and thousands of lights. Several homes are open for tours (admission charged). Refreshments are served and carriage rides are available. Local stores and restaurants join in the revelry by offering specials and refreshments.
Christmas Parades December The Decatur Jaycees and Kiwanis Club of Hartselle each sponsor an annual Christmas Parade. Priceville also offers an annual Christmas Parade. The parades include floats, area marching bands, fire trucks and last but not least - Santa Claus.
