Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts For more than 85 years, the Princess Theatre has brought the magic of the arts to regional audiences in the intimacy of its beautifully restored art deco theatre. The Princess features a professional performing arts series, a lecture series, and showcases artists like Ray Charles, Arlo Guthrie, Rosanne Cash, The Capitol Steps, Chris Botti, Loretta Swit, Cloris Leachman, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
Carnegie Visual Arts Center The Carnegie Visual Arts Center, a not-for-profit organization, is a cultural, educational and community-service organization providing an environment to promote learning, creation and appreciation of the visual arts. The Carnegie hosts local, regional, national and international art exhibits and art classes are offered to all ages.
Hartselle Fine Arts Center The Hartselle Fine Arts Center is relatively new to Hartselle and is housed in the historic F.E. Burleson building, built in 1916. The Center is home to a number of events and activities as well as being available for use by various organizations including the College Street Players, a performing arts group. Other activities held at the Center include a childrens' Art Camp offering classes in performing, dance, music and visual art. The Art Camp received national recognition in the July, 2006, issue of Newsweek Magazine.
Concerts by the River Enjoy performances in a variety of music genres weekly during the summer in Decatur.
Music in the Park at Earth Park Taking place in an environmental park, musical performances take place from May through September in Hartselle.
Decatur Youth Orchestra Listen to the classics played by some of Decatur's talented young people. The Decatur Youth Orchestra is administered by the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and funded by the City of Decatur.
Art in our Public Schools Morgan County school systems offer art, music and performance art to enrich the educational experience of students. Partnerships with the Princess Theatre for the Performing Arts, the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Carnegie Visual Arts Center and the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts provide additional art experiences to students throughout Morgan County.
Every Third Grader in the Decatur City School System receives 10 free violin lessons through a partnership with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra.
